Keeping a Pond Clear

Thanks to all,

After 3-4 days with the PowerFlo filter, the water is a lot better now. Eventually I may get the Max add-on but for now it looks nice.

I'm new here so excuse me for butting in...lol... We have an outdoor pond and always had problems with murky water..We bought a good bio filter and still had the same problem so I built a veggie filter and no more problem...Now my pond water is as clear (sometimes clearer) than tap water... I am building a larger pond and it will have a veggie filter for sure. IMHO, the bio filters are not worth the money...
My first veggie filter was made out of a cedar planter with a good liner covering the entire surface of the inside. I put lava rocks in the bottom and filled the rest with pea gravel.. My wife planted several plants in it and it works like a charm...

in my outdoor pond the water has become green over a period of time. i tried chemicals as suggested by some guy at my LFS and lost a few goldfish doing so. i recently built another pond and sure enough-green water. i have anacharis and cabomba plants in both ponds, mainly anacharis as i find it to be more hardy. i find pieces of it that are 2' long, and fish seem to be fine. i'd like to clear the water up so that i can see them but then i read this http://www.pond-doctor.co.uk/longclearormuddy.html i don't know if that's true or not because i do own two koi and possibly a mix (could be koi+comet mix?? still bronze, kinda young) and i want the best for my fish. so what methods could i use to clear up the water? i mean like ones that if i try there should be given success. i would greatly appreciate it ;) :D :thm:
