Recently i discovered that fish can and will get into the overflow box of a wet dry. Is there anyway to prevent this from happening and do fish really have the abillity to dissapear and reappeare in places they shouldn't. For the life of me i cant figure out how this happened.

Thanks

Hi and welcome!

My clown used to do it all the time. I finally used lighting grate from Home Depot and cut it down to size and placed it over the overflows. He used to jump in weekly but hasn't since I added those (okay he did once in the half hour I took them off for a water change!).

Mesh should work too or something like it as long as water can still get through and it doesn't trap a lot of debris.

Do you have a weir comb on the over flow box? if you have and they are still "jumping" over, then put some fine mesh over the opening to just cover it...

hmmmmm....hang on...that would give them a trampoline instead of a helter skelter ride........now there's a thought.......
