Ok, I decided I want to try Kens Fish Foods, but I'm a little overwhelmed with the selection.

How on earth do you know what to order??

My 75 gal currently hosts 8 mollies (2 male, 6 female), and will soon host a Severum, bolivian rams (3), red eye tetras (15) and julii cories (12).

My 46 gal has one angel, 8 diamond tetras, 4 otos and 3 green or bronze cories, also one kuhli loach that came back to life and is spotted every few months.

My 10 gal is currently hosting inverts - shrimp and snails.

So.... what to feed these guys?

Right now they eat spirulina algae flakes (I think tetra brand), as well as some generic tropical fish flakes, sinking algae wafers, sinking shrimp pellets, and I occasionally feed freeze-dried blood worms, krill and frozen shrimp.

I do have a decent amount of foods left, but I'd like to start adding in some of Kens fish foods too, and eventually (if I ever run out of the foods I've got) switch to his since I've heard great things about it.

But I just can't seem to decide which foods to buy - there are so many!!

What do you recommend for my tanks?

Thanks! :)

I am in the same boat, no clue where to start.
I subscribed to this thread in hope it gives some great info.
I have mts. 80gal has 15 Glolight Tetras, 20 ghost shrimp. This is going to be a planted tank with Apistos
55gal has 1 Red Oscar and 3 large plecos.
40gal has 2 med size Angles, 10 Harly Rasboras, 5 Neon Tetras, 6 Cherry Barbs
15gal Small Severum, will soon be a planted tank with small community fish.
5gal 1 Beta, and a Dwarf pleco.
Thanks in advance
Jim

I would get a multi-purpose flake, catfish pellets (for the cories and bottom feeders, your inverts will like these too), and maybe the veggie sticks with added calcium for your snails.

Thank you....... I was going to post a post like this for Kens on what to get. I'm trying to decide whats a good meal for my basic FW fish.

This is what happens when you manifest things..... it will just happen if you think about it .

When you order food from kens you need to look for food that has Ethoxyquin in them. If it has this in it then don't order that kind of food. I order KENS PREMIUM TROPICAL FISH FLAKE and also the earthworm flakes. All of my fish are cichlids so whats why I order the earthworm flakes. I would not order the cichlid mix because the pellets smash up all of the flakes so you get alot of small flakes in the bag.

All my fish LOVE kens earthworm flake, well, or any of his foods, Ken rocks! Except for the low carb color pellets, they need to soften up before my fish like them. No bad foods that I've tried from him.

Well I ended up ordering a few things. I have a ton of tropical flakes still, so I'm going to wait on those. I bought the earth worm flakes, sinking bits, spirulina wafers, veggie flakes and cichlid flakes. I only meant to get one or two things... but... well... I figured, the shipping charges were low even though I kept adding things... so... I Just kept clicking... LOL

Ah well... The fish will enjoy them, I'm sure... I'll probably have to freeze a lot of it since I don't go through that much food that quickly, but hopefully it will be worthwhile. :)

When did I become that person that spends so much on their fish???

LoL - Thanks. My mother already thinks I'm nuts with all the pets in our house (who receive regular vet care, which is not understood by my non-pet loving family members). They remind me whenever I talk to them about any of our pets that I'm personally funding my vet's boat or vacation home or whatever.

I guess when I start taking fish to the vet, I'll call myself officially crazy. :) For now I stick to cats and dogs and birds and rats and... alright fine, I'm crazy.

I think between my fishy household and my other halfs fishy household, we've ordered just about every type of flake, crumble, bit, wafer, pellet or powder you can imagine.
I'll plug my own thread here if you don't mind.

I've got enough to do my $50 minimum now but figured I'd let people know if anyone else is interested before I place the order.
