I have seen some very cool fish at a store and the sign says killifish but it doesnt say what size. They are like a mettalic green which the employee said are the males and the more duller ones are females. Well I saw a male look like it was trying to get a female ready to breed cause it kept going around it and foolowing it and stuff. I hear most dont get over 3 inches. Is that true? Could they go witht he following fish?

7 cherry barbs
3 cories
2 kribs(gonna get rid of these cause they are the same sex and thye wont stop fighting.

Oh and this is a 20 gallon high. Thanx for any info.

I believe what I have seen is called a Green Panchax. I have been on a few sites and I found one with pics and they look just like the ones I saw at the store. I could not though find any info on them so any is appreciated.

Go back to the site that had a photo of the fish that's identical to the one you're talking about. Get the URL of that site and give it to us (just cut-and-paste will do: the software here will make the link for you).

Pick up its real name while you're there. Try a www.google.com search using the scientific name. You'll be amazed. (BTW, all I had to do was enter "www.google.com" in my post: the software made the link.)

Come back here and tell us what you know and what you need to know.

We're all ears, and we'll wait up for you.

Ok I found out they are called Green Panchax. They grow to around 2 1/2 inches. They need to be in a tank with places to hide. They need to be in water around 22-26 degrees celsius. Oh and they can be big fry eaters. I could not find any info about fish thye can be kept with though. Are the fish I listed good tankmates? At the store thye were kept with smaller community fishes. Thanx.

Thanx. It seams that killifish are more of live food eaters. I don't know if Id be able to provede the right kind of diet for them. Plus it seams if I wanted to get babies I would have to take the eggs out to hatch in another container. Guess they arent the fish for me. Thanx for your help though wetman.

I have some in my semi-aggresive tank to add something to the top strata. i bought the one from work when it came in by mistake. definatly likes live food, my 2 inch one once ate a 1 inch cherry barb, much to my suprise.
