killing hydra in a tank with crabs and shrimp?

I just found 3 stuck to the glass, in an area of the tank my algae eaters have been ignoring... maybe they are sick of being stung? I have 2 red claws and 6 amano shrimp in with 7 cherry barbs and 3 otos.. one of the otos has been showing redness that I don't like, but the water shows no amonia...

how can I kill the hydra without hurting my crabs and shrimp?

Maybe the oto got stung badly, or got too close to a crab??

I would either A) drag them up the glass and torture them for hurting my fishys :devil: , or B) squish 'em with a net.

oh, I killed 3 of them... but if there are three on the glass there have got to be more, they reproduce every 2 days!!

I am still waiting for the test kit to be delivered, I should have it tomorrow...

just got the seachem test in the mail...

nitrites 0 (no reaction in color at all)
nitrates between 1-2 on the seachem chart color is in betweenish
ammonia 0
ph is around 6.5 with the co2 brewing

I got rid of mine by heat and tons of salt..but i had to tear the tank down and move my shrimp to a qt tank.

well, that's not really an option right this second... and I think the salt would bother my otos. I am going to do some heavy vacuuming and a big water change tomorrow. hopefully that will help. I have not seen any since the other day.

I've heard Gouramis are good for killing hydra.

Pick out the ones you can see. If you let your PWC interval go a little long, they'll probably just die. I think they're less tolerant of NO3 than shrimp etc. are...
