Knock knock?

Okay, I'm new here and I know NOTHING about sw tanks. Are you guys saying you could have things in your tank you didn't put in there purposely? I think this is the second thread I saw that people have found 'surprises' in their sw tanks. Some not so nice surprises. That is scary to me.

happens all the time as we use live rock which can come in with all sorts of living bits and pieces on it(commonly known as hitch hikers) things like corals, crabs, pods, shrimp, snails. I have seem a couple of people even end up with fish!

Hi there, I agree that it can be "scary" not knowing what will be on your rock but many of the things you get on live rock just can't be "bought". The diversity of life is just amazing...you'll see things you've never heard of, some you can't identify even with research. It is a true micro-cosm of the ocean. I want a system that works as closely to the ocean as possible in a tank so whatever the ocean likes, I'm going to try to make friends with.

if it wasnt for the hitch hikers, it would be a very slow and boring cycling process........soon people will ask why you spend so much time staring at a peice of rock...........thats just after they've gotta over how much you spent on it.
