koi with no scales??? Why???

I just caught some of my other koi because I have something going on in the pond "ick" wise I think. I found out this little guy has NO scales! He is healthy otherwise. I have included a photo of the orange and black koi. Can someone help me identify what is going on here? I've heard of koi that have no scales but I think he had scales when I bought his a couple of years ago. Thanks for the help.

He seems fine... it's just a "Doitsu" (mostly scaleless) koi. He has scales in the normal places, on his back and behind the pectoral fin.
