Koralia running backwards

My understanding is that the US has standards on AC motors and they are only to go in one direction. They are made to do that.

Outside the US, they don’t have this standard, and with AC, it then depends on what way it initially starts…a 50/50 thing. Sometimes it starts right, sometimes it doesn’t. So you just unplug and plug it back in until it is running in the right direction.

YES!

Motors not produced in the US do not have to have the "gizmos" to assure that they only run in one direction. Therefore it is hit or miss if this european motor will go in the right direction.

Including or not including the "gizmos" that force a motor to start in only one direction is an engineering choice and depends on the application, whether in europe or in america. After a little searching it seems Koralia designed their pumps to run continually, and so neglected this feature.
