My kribs had laid a bunch of eggs on the underside of a rock on Sunday. The female and male would not stray far from the cave and constantly were guarding the eggs. Today I looked and the eggs were gone and the kribs don't seem as interested in the cave although they occasionally come back. I don't see any movement around the cave. Did all the eggs get eaten?

a few possibilities: (a) they ate them. fish that have just come to sexual maturity and spawned will often eat the first few egg laying attempts ... they need practice to get the raising fry thing down. (b) the eggs were not fertilized and were eaten. as with (a) a new male may not have fertilized the eggs .. he just didn't know quite how yet. (c) the eggs did in fact hatch and the fry have been moved to a pit which they dug. i'd give it a week to be certain.
