So my two kribs are still alive and kickin but the female is still really shy. so i had the idea to maybe add one or two more. however, i dont know which gender to add.

Do kribs have a certain ratio like guppies do? i know that when 2 kribs pair-off, they tend to stay together right? so if i were to get another male, would they be competing for the female? or should i get a female to increase the males variety? or maybe a male and female?

Thanks to anyone who can give some feedback :)

I would recommend adding another female. The only time I had 2m/1f in a tank it did not go well to say the least. As far as pair monogamy does, I have seen that, yet I have also seen a female krib ditch her male for another( when his f died), they then took over the cave and booted out the other male. Right now I have a male P. taeniatus(krib "cousin") that spawned with his female was caring for the fry and all, only to come home after 3 days of travel to find no fry and the male hook up with the other female( got eggs now). What size tank are they in BTW? That could be a deciding factor on whether to add another pair.

I would not add another female unless tank is large enough to provide room for lone female once new pair up with male.

i think im ok. the female is starting to come around. shes been moving a lot of sand out of this little cup i have for them to lay eggs in and trying to get the male to go over there with her. shes been doing the little shaky thing trying to get his attention.
