kribensis

Hmm...they might be Ok. They don't look that much alike, so I don't think they'd be aggressive towards another.

The average Blue Ram is $5-15, at least around here.

I've kept kribs with blue rams and had no issues. Had them for about a year. It should work out just fine.

Tank size and territory dividers are key when housing multiple cichlids/species of cichlids.

as long as you have a tank that is long enough for them to go their seperate ways and you have the tank set up so that each fish can set a territory of their own, aggression will be lessened. make sure you some caves for the kribs to go into and call home. also sometimes having the tank 'divided' near the middle by a good sized piece of driftwood or rock will help with keeping different fish from having too much hostility

if you get a breeding pair of kribs they will tear up the rams. kribs protecting eggs, fry....are significantly more aggressive than the rams.

I agree with Sully. I have heard that same thing from people who keep these species. If you are going to get a breeding pair, pick one species or the other. Also, remeber that they could also be agressive to any other fish in the tank, especially if it is not big enough for the other fish to get away.
