After weighing options between the ZooMed 501 and Tom Rapid C-80, I broke down and decided to give the ZooMed 501 filter a try. I had some other things I wanted to get as well so might as well throw it all on one order. After looking at the price ($38), I started rethinking this. As a reference point...PetMart here sells them for $55. I did some web surfing and found one for $26. Called up Big Al's and inquired about their price matching policy. Said it was no prob and wound up purchasing it for $25.
