I just thought I'd drop a quick note for the regulars and everyone else here.

I used to avoid GCC for the most part and even when I came here, I would Usually not enjoy it much. There always seemed to be a post somewhere that Got my hackles raised, and since I'm here to relax I would simply avoid the GCC forum altogether.

religion, politics, etc. Are of course not supposed to be discussed here, but someone always seemd to be flirting with the inflamatory stuff and made it less than fun to be around. I do have very strong Beliefs and stances on Politics and Religion, But this forum is no place for those to be aired.

I developed a rule long ago that anytime I got angry at a post I would just avoid the GCC forum for 2 weeks. Of late There doesn't seem to be much trouble with these issues, and it has been a pleasure to visit GCC on my daily trips to the web.
Obviously the minor joke or picture is not what I am referring to, and Slip has done a great Job IMO of seperating humor from problematic posts.

Anyhow. Thanks to everyone for making GCC fun.

I agree. Some of the other forums I've gone to have gotten totally lax about what is allowed in their "GCC" section as of late. I went to one this morning to find a post that was clearly inflamatory (with a link to something showing cruelty to animals) and the moderators were totally indifferent to it. Several people even indicated they wanted it closed but "it was up to the original poster"!

Anyway, GCC certainly has bounced back a lot from it's...er....darker ages.

A big thumb-up for the moderators.

They're the ones that maintain order. It's just like the second law of Thermodynamics. A complex system will fall apart without some outside force keeping it together.
