Kuhli's and Snails?

I think the general consensus I got months ago when asking this question was that most Kuhlis do not eat snails- their mouths are too small.

However, I've read enough accounts online that say they do to think that it's probably an individual trait and that the odd one here and there may eat snails- can't imagine them being able to eat anything but the smallest snails though.

Yeah, IME they don't eat snails, but I wouldn't be suprised if the occasional kuhli got a taste for them.

Nope, they don't hurt snails, or anything else for that matter (unless it's the plant they uproot from time to time).

What's your stocking? A nice assassin snail may do the trick, or if you have no other fish currently, perhaps a dwarf puffer (although he'll pretty much need to be the only fish in there due to aggression issues).

Hmm, I don't know about "snake-like" loaches not eating snails. I had kuhlis with a few adult ramshorn snails, never saw small ones or eggs although i had put some in. Added vailantella maassi, fork-tailed loaches, no snails at all.

This may be more on conditioning process wherein once the fish becomes accustomed to the taste for a particular food, they certainly will go for it however in my experience, kuhlis and dojos have been perfectly safe for all snails of various age and size.
