kusuri wormer plus questions

im planing on buying the kusuri wormer plus to treat my goldfish (i will probably treat all my 4 tanks as a precautionary measure) but have a couple of questions to ask.

will all the snails be killed? it says it may kill snails, but i obviously dont want to end up with grossly polluted tanks because of this. my main tank more than any others is home to tons of MTS and ramshorn snails. they dont come up in the gravel vac so im guessing id never be rid of the decomposing bodies. plus 1 of my tanks has a red and black nerite i really dont want to kill.

will it be ok to use with weather/dojo loaches?

would i be better off netting all the fish out into 10 gallon buckets and treating them in there for a set amount of time, or will the flukes possibly live in the gravel and still be there when the fish go back?

if i remove some of the snails, once i have finished treatment could i do a PWC and add them back to the tank?

how long do i leave the treatment in the tank?

sorry for all the questions, any help greatly appreciated.

kelly,

It says that it's active ingredient Flubendazole may be toxic to all inverts. I wouldn't risk losing all of them.

If you want to use this treatement I would net them and treat in a few 10 gallon buckets. Treat all of fish at the same time. If possible hold the fish in the buckets for 5-7 days. This will allow any eggs/free swimming flukes to not find a host and die.

ok, thanks for the reply, ive been going round in circles it seems. i am tossing up using kusuri wormer plus or the fluke m. im not keen on either to be honest, i dont know whats even wrong with my goldfish, their symptoms dont seem to point at any 1 thing. im getting seriosuly stressed with it all. i dont have much money and dont want to pay out to get something which will just kill off all my snails, and then still leave the problem. im getting so angry as it seems theres no end to it.

my goldies occassionally flick against things, maybe once every couple of days now.

they flick their fins about a lot sometimes, like they have an itch on the fin.

there are no white spots, i know it isnt ick.

they hang at the waters surface sometimes, gasping, it seems to always be the same fish though.

the weather loaches are showing none of these signs.

there are no visible signs of anything on any of the fish, although i did notice on my big blue oranda her tail and fins have a few tiny pin prick holes in them, not sure what that could mean.

im at my wits end with it all. i can see me putting all my fish into buckets, treating them, putting them back into the tank after a week only for them to carry on with whatever they have been up to before because the problem is in the substrate etc. i seriously dont know what to do for the best.
