Lab in 6 gallon tank

I had to put my 4 inch yellow lab in a 6 gallon tank, by itself, to keep peace in its original tank.

How long will it be ok in the 6 gallon?...Could it last there long term?..it seems to be doing fine for a week now. I am having some difficulties finding another home for it.

It will be fine short term but not long term. I would be working on getting it a new home ASAP. Have you looked at sending it back to the fish store?
 
I have had it quite a while. Probably two years. One fish store I contacted was equivocal. They generally do not take in fish. I may call some friends or aquaintances to see if they are interested.

Do you think a time-out, and putting him back in the original tank, might make him less aggressive in the original tank?...even the original, though, is somewhat small, only 30 gallons.
 
Adding new decorations, moving existing plants and decor etc.. around can sometimes help to reset territories and force fish to start fresh. This can sometimes help with aggression issues and is worth a try.
 
Willing to sell and ship if it's a female? :)
 
As long as you keep only the one lab in the 6 gal it should be ok for a awhile
