I was reading a cichlid book the other day, and it said that cichlids from lake nicuaragua, such as jags, midas, dovi...prefere temps in the low 70's. But I always read that all those fish liked the water 78-80. what temp does every one here keep there lake nicuraguan cichlids at?

Since no one answers you, I'll try. I have three Nics and they are all kept at 76F in winter, and going up to 80 in summer with the room temperature. I have never heard that fish from Lake Nicaraqua needs low 70's temperature. It's a rift lake up in the mountain so it doesn't get as warm as many Amazon habitat. Do a search on Lake Nicaraqua and see what you get.
