A poll that is posted made me think of this.

'tis the season for re-gifting.

The worst thing I got was a really, really cheap wallet. It was like plastic and some other odd materials.

I gave it to a friend of mines kid, not as a christmas gift, but more like a toy.

It is the thought that counts... even if it is lame.

I've got a buddy who's well known for giving odd/weird gifts for christmas. One year, he provided each member of my family with a high quality german gas mask.. This was way before 9/11. Another year, he gave my elderly mother 50 firework booby traps. Set them off and they make a harmless noise. One year I got a set of plastic maniquin hands from him, spraypainted neon green with black star glitter. Another year, I got 2000 rounds of ammunition fresh in the box. Then the year after, 2000 pez, and one pez dispenser. My 74 year old mother also got a set of military grade smoke grenades from him one year. Then there was the year I got a road flare with a nail driven through it...

Christmas season is almost upon us again, and I quiver, nay, shudder, in anticipation.

Haha, what creative things to give someone. I wouldn't mind giving some of them gifts just to weird people out, lol! I think giving bullets to someone who has never shot a gun, or owned one would be kind of weird, lol!

I wish someone would give me mannequin hands. Although a whole mannequin would be better.

One year in a gift draw (where you either pick a new one or 'steal' opened gifts) we ended up with liqueur chocolates where one of the chocolates in the box wasn't filled with liqueur but filled with something awful (can't even remember what, I think it was chili peppers), like a chocolate Russian roulette. Well, we didn't even try them out because the expiry date on the box was almost a year old.

i got a box of tampons..... i was like wtf?.. it was a secret santa thing..lol so they had no idea who they were giving or getting from, it probably would have been hysterical, except i was 8 months pregnant at the time....so i really just felt stupid!
but on the flip side, i bought these horribly ugly toe socks , that actually had the toes cut out for a santa exchange one year, they were the ugliest yellow and brown! they went to my bfs 80 year old uncle...lol I think that family just tried to top who could get the stupidist gift for some one else...then they draw numbers coinsiding with the gifts.

tampons, huh?

i bet velveeta would be a great gift.

Who is this guy? Send him my way! 2 cases of rifle or pistol ammo, it ain't cheap.

v/r, N-A

I KNOW! or smoke grenades, gas masks, all very useful!

Worst thing I got in a secret santa thing was a generic brand barbie type doll(I was about 10). Wouldnt have been bad for a girl but it was specified to be gender neutral. I ended up trading with a girl in my class for something I can't remember.

worst one for me was a pair of work gloves and a screwdriver when I was 23. I guess I should have seen the work coming :)
