Looking for input of owners of tanks in the 150-500 gal size range for what kind of equipment/system you have in place for a power failure. I have a 355 gallon tank, moderately stocked, and I'm concerned about a power outage. I have a portable generator, but looking for "simpler" options.

has anyone used the portable/battery operated air pumps? I've seen the AZOO ones at Dr.Foster&Smith and that seems like a good option for maintaining air circulation.

Has anyone used pure O2 tanks or any other ideas you can share? Thanks.

I have a computer battery backup in place. http://www.upsforless.com/apcsu1400netref.aspx You don't have to get one this robust (I ended up with one while doing some computer work for a company). A computer power backup system plugs into the wall, maintains constant charge, and automatically kicks in in the event of power failure. Plug your heat and air into the unit and everything else into a regular power strip so in the event of an outage, your critical systems don't miss a single moment of power.

I forgot to mention that one that size will last for hours while drawing such small amounts of power. It may very well work overnight though I have never tested it that long. The downside is it does make an annoying beep to let you know the power is out (in case your lights not working, the TV shutting off midshow, the silence, and the whole neighborhood being dark is not enough of an indicator).
