About a month and a half ago, I noticed a large, white bump on my brothers German Blue Ram, and I haven't been able to get rid of it. Sometimes it's a little bloody. The water is at 78F w/ no ammonia and no nitrite, it's a 75g tank. I have tried swabbinh the affected area with Betadine, with little affect. I am almost certain (not totally though) that it is some sort of parasite. I didn't want to do anything to the tank since it seemed that only she was infected, but now my male betta has a very large, bloody looking lump on his jaw, and my female spiketail paradise fish has a white lump on her mouth too. I put Quick Cure (for Ich) in the tank before I went to school today, is there anything else I can do?

I can't set up a hospital tank, though I really wish I could, and I can't add salt to the water because I have loaches and plecos.

Thanks for anyone's help.

Well, i'm going to add some salt to the tank and raise the water temp to around 83. I removed all my scaleless fish (Loaches and Plecos).

What your describing *SOUNDS* like it could be a tumor in your fish. I have had to deal with this with fish back around 1995. It was a nasty illness which the fish suffered greatly from. My wallet took a bad hit too. :(

I won't say thats what it is for sure but it sounds like it "could be" a tumor.

Well, the good news is that after swabbing the affected area on the ram with high salt content water and Quick Cure, the spot is starting to get better :).

I hope it's not tumors, but there's always a possibilty. Do you mean cancerous tumors or something else?
