large fish suggestions?

Looking for suggestions on a large fish or two, if any would fit the profile. Just set up my 180 gallon tank and am in the process of moving over the fish from my other two tanks. It will be mainly a couple of larger schools of tetras, a pleco (still very small) and probably 4 bala sharks (have 3 now). Are there any other fairly large fish that I could add to this mix? I'm guessing it would have to relatively peaceful, and not overly active. I also do not want to make any special adjustments to the tank for the fish, and I don't want anything nocturnal, I want to see it!!
I appreciate any ideas!
 
If it were me, I'd put in a pair of Jaquar cichlids...though those tetras wouldn't last very long.
 
my lfs has giant gouramis that are goergoues but they eat snails and small fish? they basically look like a two spot but are about 17 inches all the way around someone brought them in couldnt house them anymore! no wonder, they were huge!
have you thought about just adding a few more balas? i just recently have seen thelargest bala shark you could imagine and bythe time they get as big as that it seems to me the tank would be stocked?but on the othey side this bala lived quite well with a pair of kissing gourami? and they get fairly large and mine seem to have great personalities!
 
I think I want to keep the number of balas at 4, they are really active fish, and I think they would really be happier in something bigger, but this will have to do! I really wonder if there is any fish that would be appropriate, which is why I asked for suggestions! I guess I would want something in the 5-10 inch range that won't eat my smaller fish. I even thought like kissing gouramis, or something on that order, but wouldn't they eat smaller fish?
I think 17 inches would be a bit too big!! but it sure would be nice~
 
any other ideas? :)
 
What kind of Tetras? A school of Colombian Tetras or Congos would be pretty cool in a tank like that. I wouldn't put a school of Tiger Barbs (10 or more) out of the question as well.

not in my humble opinion will a kissing gourami eat smaller fish i recently had to house some neons in the qt tank with mine and they were all there when they left the qt tank! i have also seen some really pretty upside down catfish and they seem to wim in the mid to upper levels of the tank!..
