They started several months ago as maybe 2 or 3 small, flat, bright red spots on the glass but have since grown to about an inch, roughly round and more have shown up all over the place. These haven't caused any problems (that we've noticed), we're just stumped. What the heck are these things? I've sifted through numerous forums and hundreds of images but I haven't found anything that quite resembles this. I understand red algae is furry and diatoms are neither this bright nor this large. Anyone know what I'm talking about?
