Hi, I am looking for some ideas for a large pleco cave. My Sailfin pleco is 14 inches long and he needs a large place to rest. The Synthetic log he is in is to small and I need a larger alternative.

My now favorite thing to do with pvc since I tried it a few days ago is to roll it in silicone and then roll in in sand, gravel, etc. Heres a link, just be sure to get aquarium safe silicone.

I have a 55g african cichlid tank set up with a pleco in it. I used stacked slate to make caves for the cichlids and made sure to stack some on top of the driftwood in the tank to make a nice big cave for him. If you have trouble stacking you can silicone them in place, just be sure to let the silicone fully cure before placing it back in the tank.

Try this guy. He makes caves to order. The ginormous long one he made for me and my L240s that are about 7" long now. It is a beautiful cave, even tho it is still a little too big for the fish. They hang out in it off and on all day. Good luck. Here is the link:

Contact Nancy at SCCICHLIDS@aol.com.

She just made me a terracotta cave for a 10+ inch clown loach. Its huge.

If you do remind her I am still waiting for her to bill me for it.
