No- it is freshwater... my fault, as that info is in another post, kind of in a two part post/question.

Could you just use the Bio-balls submerged with the just wet (Instead of Wet/Dry) or would it be better to use some other media? If so, what media would you recommend?

thats a whole can o worms to be opened.... do 'bio balls' provide more surface area? dunno. i've seen passionate arguments both ways for their use in wet systems.

not a contribution, just an observation... :)

Well the can is already opened, so...Very unlikely, in fact IMO they come nowhere near the surface area of a submerged media.
