Say I have a 125 gal. tank with full grown green severens and parrots.......{not sure what size they actually grow to}.......should you feed them twice a day? Bigger fish surely would eat more? But more often in a day? And how about baby fish?

feed them more

just feed big ones more...not more often
ps. got any pics of them

Unfortunately I do not digital camera yet camera or all of you would sigh and say " Oh.....more pictures from Twilight." ;)

So the three minute rule would still apply with bigger fish also?

Larger fish can do with 1-2 feedings a day and smaller fish can do with 3-4 a day but could do with 2. But the larger fish should obviously have more food then then teh smaller ones.

It depends on the size, age and species. If they are fully grown, a slow fish can be fed every second or third day. A fast active fish will need to be fed daily but will be fine with once a day...

It's all depending on the different species, predatory fish should be fed big meals, but once every two or three days, some even once a week, herbivore should be as often as possible in small amount of food, omnivores can do fine with just one to three feedings in one day. But aquarium feeding, to be honest, is really up to your daily schedule. Some people feed predatory fish everyday because they have the time, some people feed community fish once a day or once every other day because they're busy, it doesn't pose as an instant health threat, but overfeeding always result in shorter life span as oppose to under feeding. In conclusion, for your fish, once or twice a day is fine

Agree w/JohnMemorialHS - that is not at all bad practice. My adult fish don't get more than one meal a day in any case, predators exactly as suggested- evey second or third day. I don't keep large pure hervivores because I cannot give them multiple meals daily. Fry do get multiple meals a day, but at least two are automated, one or two more in the evening when I'm around.
