Very strong catfish. Very skittery as well. Will eat anything dropped into the water. Mine ate everything including the slices of squash, algae disks, blood worms and pellets even potato chips (another story for another time). It eats so much so that it outgrew my older and bigger TSN in a jiff. It grows really fasy. Around half an inch a month. Have a 75 ready in a few months. Then a 180-300 gals a few months after that. They grow to about 24-30 inches in captivity.
Strong? Someone left the dang filter off over night. No water flow, no bubbles, nothing. The TSN was already gasping and its barbels were already short when I found out the next day. The L. Marmoratus was actually toying around with the TSN, swimming and pushing it around. It looked like the L. Marmoratus works well in a wide range of water parameters.
Feed once every three or four days. It will gorge itself with food during that time. The belly will look like it ate a marble. The fish will digest this over a few days.
Very playful fish. This fish will actually toy around with less aggressive fish.
