I'm going to treat some of the goldfish in our outdoor pond for their ulcers and such, and I needed to know exactly how long each bath should be and how many times a week I should do it.

We are going to get better filtration on their pond soon, but for now, the water appears pretty clear and they have anacharis and lillypads in there to oxegenate and slightly filter the water also. Hopefully, we will be adding either duckweed, water hyacinth, or water lettuce.

So just let me know about the salt baths, thanx! ~Angela

I am sorry, I am not familiar with a salt bath as a treatment for "ulcers and such"
Melafix has worked well for wounds on goldfish for me. Although that is in a tank, using continuous low dose, not a bath situation.
all I can say is try to search the web and or try in the pond forum here.

You probably need to clean the muck out of the bottom of the pond. Remove the fish if you can for you will release a lot of toxins as you do that.

A salt bath is done until the fish shows distress, but I'm not sure you can do it with open ulcers.

You ought to try to find the Puregold website, there are real experts there in goldfish care. There is a good site with good info and a newslist, but not a forum.
