Hello guys,

Just came back from the LFS here in Phoenix, and they are selling driftwood at $8/LB. Now, to me, that seems a little pricey... I picked up an AWESOME looking piece, took it to the scale, and it read 10 lbs.. Thats an $80 piece of driftwood!! :22_yikes:

Does the $8/lb seem reasonable? or is this a rip off? I really dont know how malaysian driftwood is priced so I came on here to ask.

Thanks for any tips and advice :)

Completely normal. I've seen lots of LFS sell it by the pound. BUT I don't know if that's the going rate for it.

Wow.

driftwood is always expensive. I have some that I have spent ofer $100 on. Personally I havent seen it sold by the pound, but I have seen some tiny, sub sandwich sized pieces being sold for about $20 each.

or check out D.S Drifters photo album. He's got great wood at awesome prices.

How big of piece is it? What size tank are you putting it in?

That seems a little pricey to me. Look in the classifieds here. There is usually someone selling nice pieces cheaper than that shipped.
