I have a young harlequin rasbora that lost its tail today. Im not sure how it lost its tail, happened sometime during the water change. it also has some fungal growth, but i don't think they are related. Since the other fish have ragged tails I think its the rocks in the tank, which I will address later, but my question is this. Do you think it will live long, and will it grow the tail back. I am going to try to give wc everyday to help keep the water quality good. I can' t setup a quarantine tank. What is everyone's thoughts.

Is the tail all gone or partly gone?
One of my rasboras lost almost all his tail -- looked like someone bit him. It grew back wiith no help from me except for making doubly sure the water was "pristine" at all times.
I don't even know which one he is now. He's totally healed.

I don't think it was any of the fleshy part of his tail. There seems to be one or 2 rays left. I'll have to change the water everyday. and I want to add salt but I am hesitant because of snails and plants. I think I might give melafix a try when I get my next paycheck. There are a lot of torn fins, and maybe it'll help.

If the others are being picked on as well, then it might be a good idea to QT this guy and make sure he doesn't get hurt worse. Find out who the culprit is.
I'm sure he'll recover so long as it's just the rays that are missing.
