I have a 37gal freshwater tank with neons, dwarf gouramis plecos, black tetras, rams. I have a few plants mainly in front; bulk of plants are artificial. I currently have a florescent hood. I am seeing a lot of choices in terms of blue actinic versus halogen- dayglo and moonlight LED etc. I would like to choose the type of bulbs that would best bring out the colors of the fish. It seens the current lights just seem to wash out their color and some of the more subtle irridescent colors get lost. I only see these beautiful subtle shades when the tank is lit with the ambeint daylight in the room. How can I light the tank well without washing out the all the colors?
