OK, Here's the deal...

I Need new lights ASAP...

I already have 2 65w PC lights and my other 2 went out

I need more light because my anemone is shrinking and so are my polyps...

I was thinking about the coralife 175w MH however for the same price (or less actually) I can get the Nova Extreme HO T5's that will cover my tank and then i can get rid of the other 2 PC lights...

Or I can get another set of 4 X 65w PC lights....

I just don't know....

PLEASE HELP...
(info, prices, places to buy etc...)

Ok what size tank?
What are the inhabitants
How much willing to spend
What type of anemone
What type of polyps

MH is much stronger than T5 though, and for some anemones, MH might be the only way to go. We need to know the exact species of anemone before finding you a light

Tank is a basic setup.. that's why I wasn't specific...
It's more about whats a better system in general... I'm wanting info from people that have experience so I can learn from them...

My tank is a 55g and I may swap it for a 90g (both are 4')

My anemone is a bubble tip and the polyps are star polyps...
I also have several species of mushrooms and tube worms etc... basic stuff in a saltwater tank I also have an abundance of culpera (or how ever its spelled...)

I really want to know whats better the T5 (4 4' tubes), or 1 150w MH...

Germanman has already given me alot of help, so I'm just looking for someone to enlighten me further....

Thanks for any info...

BTW,
Money is in the bank so I'll be getting this thing TONIGHT!

your gonna need lots of light for that anemone, get 2 250 watt MH's and keep the PC if you want for blue actinic. Make sure you introduce the light slowly to prevent bleaching

We have a 6 bulb(3actinic & 3 10k) T5 4' long and works great. We even have an anemone that is doing awsome with it...and all the other corals love it...

6 bulbs is about 324 watts, good but not best

yup halides are best for the light loving anemone
