I would like to know what is the best lighting for low light plants without having to use co2. Right now i have a single strip 17 watt flouresent light. I have java fern and ludwegia in the tank already but would like to add more low light plants.
I use a 36w JBL fixture on my 29 and run a 6500k light. Last year I had a 10,000k light. Works fine for what I want. I find that one pretty easy. A few jobs sticks for ferns a little ferts low bioload, no CO2. The algae keeps the otos happy. Cryts do well and the sword plant fills almost a third of the tank and put off another. Java fern, anubias, maybe a hygrophila.
