i am moving from a fowlr 180gallon tank to a reef with softies and lps, a few small reef fish and critters. I currently have (2bulb) 72" ice cap retro 430 ballast puts out 320 watts. I need to add to lighting if iam gonna go reef. should i buy another ice cap retro or go with the t5 set( if so how many balbs and watts) I am having trouble in understanding the wattage difference between t5 and vho. For a reef the average wttage use to be about 3-4 watts per gallon, has this changed???.... No sps's ,so no need for metal halides.
