Lighting...Something Im Missing?

i got a new bulb for my standard 24 inch fixture and its not working. the old bulb works fine, the new bulb was new but it wont light. the old bulb is a 20 watt 6700K life-glo and the new one is a 20 watt 6500K coralife trichromatic. is the new light too powerful for the fixture?

so wait, the new one is a T12 and the old one is a T8? and thats why it wont work?

Check the two bulbs to see if they're the same diameter.

they're not, the old one is about half that of the new. so if its never gunna work as it is, any way i can make it work or besides getting a new fixture..?

Not that I know of. I think you either need a new bulb or a new fixture.

Do you know which brand of fixture? If it is AGA or Perfecto it should take T8, T10, and T12.
