How close to 36" in length is the total 'footprint' of that system? I have a 40 gallon breeder that is 36" wide and would like to get more light into it. My canopy is just over 36" wide inside tho...

Also, is that setup running both bulbs off one ballast or do they each have their own ballast? Does the bulbs get real hot??

It IS 36" and separate ballast for the bulbs. It also has 2 fans for cooling. I also have 2 extra bulbs for it.
