How long should I leave the tank light on and when should I turn it off? Do fish sleep? Is light 24/7 Unhealthy?

If no live plants, just turn lights on to view fish. Lights need not even be on during feeding.

you can leave them on if you want but i suggest nothing over 8-9 hours.

I agree with tanker. No plants-only when you are viewing the tank. Plants- 8 to 10 hours max.

If there is no plants, no need to have the lights unless viewing.

Fish need to sleep like we do. Turn them on when you're home, turn them off when you sleep or leave the house.

I disagree with leavings lights off all the time.. my fish seem to react to light and they are more active when its on

I leave my lights on for 6-7 hours a day in my non-planted tank

if there is no light.. fish tend to get pale, and less active
