I have some day light bulbs on my tank (2 48inch) and my tank just isnt very bright. the main deal is that the light sits about 4-5 inches from the top of the tank. This is do to the canopy being the same length of the light strip. What should i do so the tank is brighter? Also I have some fishing lights (green flourescent tube you stick in the water) would it hurt to drop one in for the night time?

Depends on what you want to accomplish with your tank...I have a 110 that is lit with a single 48" bulb...but the tank has fish in it that live in low light conditions...

What kind of tank do you want to establish? Live plants? Type of fish?

If it turns out you need more light, I'd go with Coralife - they are expensive but totally worth every penny...
