It’s me again, lol. My 9 gal planted shrimp and neon tank, I noticed lil worms on the glass this morning. The lights are on and they are slowly just crawling around the glass. I’m guessing g it’s from over feeding? The neons don’t go for food like the others do in my other tanks so I’m guessing it’s waste build up? How do you treat this? I read online to not feed the tank for 3-4 days, is that right? Fish and shrimp seem fine, I had noticed that there is a dead blue shrimp I need to fish out but that’s it.

Could be a harmless detritus worm, could be planaria, could be the harmless flatworm...

Every time I tried to take a photo it came out blurry, sorry. They look like the ones in the 5th and 7th photo. Will they go away if I clean the tank and prefilter sponge?
Regular weekly water changes around 50%, with good vacuuming of the substrate, not overfeeding, and good upkeep will reduce those.
Those types are a type of ciliate worm, they feed off of bacteria naturally found in the tank.
Theyre harmless, but if in huge numbers it's a problem that there may be a lot of organic build up in the tank.
I get them a ton in my tanks left to welcome the organics lol I find them interesting. I'll get colonies living among my leaf litter and mulm.
