could live brine shrimp be bad for feeding oscars? could they get sick? if i were planning on feeding frozen cubes of brine shrimp or blood worms do i take them out of the freezer and let them thaw or do i just throw the frozen cube in to the tank?
-thanks

I don't know about oscars, but I usually put the frozen cube in a little bit of aquarium water to thaw and settle down, then I throw away the brown nasty looking water and rinse the food with aquarium water a couple of times. Then, I give it to my fish a small amount at a time. My lfs told me to drop the frozen cube directly into the tank. However, I found out that this way one or two fish will devour a big chunk before others can get to the food. By rinsing I am also sure that it's clean and the dirty stuff won't get into the tank. Hope this helps.

thats so much but can fish get sick from live blood worms and/or brine shrimp?

I am no expert to answer this but IMO if you get the live food from a trustworthy source that you know, I assume it is unlikely they carry any disease. However, like adding new fish to the tank, you don't want the water from another source gets into your aquarium, so as a precaution I would add the live food to a container with some water from my own aquarium and then add them to the tank.

The saltwater brine shrimp would be perfectly safe to feed to freshwater fish. Saltwater pathogens don't survive long in freshwater. Worms are iffy. You never know when you may get an infected batch.
