Okay the LFS just got some neat rock.. it is mostly red and purple.. it has some really neat "plant" live on it...

Looks like a silvery green plants that looks like round dime size circles end to end.. it has alot of plant on it.. it also has some with some reddish plants on it.. perhaps a type of kelp or something.. its neat too.... There is a green plant too looks like a light green plant.. not algea...

Are plants good in the marine aquarium... I've never heard anyone really talking about them. Anyone really know where this rock might be comeing from? Will this rock ever become more colorful.. it is all pretty much reddish purple.. not too intresting other then the plants.

The plants, probably different species of macroalgae, are generally a good thing in a marine tank. They help reduce nutrients, give a place for pods to grow. If you have energetic grazers, like turbos or tangs, then they may disappear pretty quickly.

I got my rock from Florida, from Tampa Bay Saltwater, and it came in with a good bit of red and green macroalgae. The red grape (botryocladia) has been doing great for a long time, but has never been a pest. The hermits ate all the caulerpa, which I'm tankful for. That stuff can become a nuisance.

Umh, are they like bubbles ? It might be valonia in that case and if it is I'd get it out or your tank will be covered. If it is it'll look like little dime sized green bubbles.
hope I'm wrong

The plant with dime size circle end to end sounds like Halimeda. An algae that uses lots of calcium so fish don't like to eat it and it is usually pretty hardy. Is it the same as the pic below?
