should I use Fiji Pink Sand (agronite) or live sand? which is better? If I went with the normal sand, how long til it becomes live sand? thanks!

well fiji pink and live sand are the same only difference is that Fiji Pink has a pink look to it after some time and price. For the price difference alone i would stick with the simple live sand. you can also buy some sands at lowes, home depot and even wal-mart that you can mix with the live sand to save on some cash.
When we say live sand or live rock we are simply talking about the bacteria that is alive in the sand or on the rock, not that the sand and rock are alive themselves. Basically to save some money you can mix some sand that is already "live" with sand that is "dead" and it will all become "live" within some time. Same goes for Live rock.

i just like mention that i started out with fine corse ''dead sand'' when i started my tank back in october 06, but it is now ''livesand'' in terms of critters its full of it they moved out of the LR and cultivated the sand. theres all sorts from worms to brtislestars. and it did'nt cost me to much.
