We should have a regular thread.."ebay item of the day" to which people can take turns posting the most ridiculous item they find listed on sale that day. No duplicates tho....

Just as long as none of my items appear....

Ok so I read the manual. I was indeed shocked that they suguested bi/weekly water changes. Then they go into the complete changes every 4 to 6 weeks, which sounds more like what I expected. They do have a "contact us"......more as it comes :mad2:

-I already wrote them in the contact window, asking them to not throw the message to the wastebasket. I also invited them to read this thread.

I appreciate your message, and the comments on this board.

I am a small one-man shop. I did not make these aquariums, and I did not write the instruction manual. I purchased them from The Encore Group, who recently purchased United Design, where these were created.

I certainly don't intend to kill fish with a product that I am selling, and I do not claim to be an expert on fish. After reading the forum, I don't really have any clues on how to improve my product offering or make suggestions to how this aquarium should be used. You guys are fish experts, so give me some suggestions, and I'll see what I can do.

There are some things I'd like to point out. While the photos on the site do not show air holes on the "television", there is a slot in the back, and they have added three large holes on the top that were not there when the stock photos were taken. Looks to me like they have made revisions to improve the product. Also, I did see the 6-gallon aquarium in use at Encore's store, and they were using an air supply.

Advice is welcome. Please keep in mind that I can't afford NOT to sell these, as I have already invested a substantial amount. Therefore, I'd like to know what I can recommend to make these safer for fish, because I assume you are saying that it is not.

Thanks

if the largest is 6 gallons, dont recomend them for goldfish, goldfish need a lot of space, and are essentially pond fish (they grow as large as koi). recommend small fish like white cloud minnows or neon tetras. also, the air supply, while important, is not the only concern... the average person will overfeed their fish, please advise an amount (one pinch a day or every other day) because in a tank that small the water conditions are going to get really bad really fast.

thanks for asking... and gl with the sales!

Thanks for the suggestions, I appreciate it.

What about Bettas? I've seen those in some tiny bowls.

I like the part in the manual that states to not add too many fish. "Consult your LFS as to how many fish are suitable". I can just see it. Person buys the fish bowl and then the LFS tells them it is not suitable for any fish especially not gold fish. A glorified overpriced beta bowl.
