Lol....ANOTHER wonderful Ebay item up for sale !! Stand in line !

Wow. It's indeed rare that someone gets an e-mail from one of us and actually cares, let alone replies. But for you to come here and actually ask for advice does show something about your character!! The smaller bowls can be used for bettas, If there is a way to keep tank temps up (usually a heater is used, or sometimes just a warm spot that doesnt get too much flux in temp). I can see the 6 gallon being used for White clouds. http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Display.cfm?pCatId=950 Again watch for temp fluxuations, but note they can go without a heater.

Unless you find a way to actually filter the tank, maintenence should be daily, or close to it. The suguestion of changing all the water every 4-6 weeks will actually harm the fish, both from an extreme change in water peramiters, and from a dieoff of benificial bacteria. for more info, read here http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=64301

Again, it is nice to see that you actually care, and mabey this will lead you into our wonderful hobby. Please keep us posted if you make any changes to the "fish care guide" and good luck with your sales!

yes bettas can be kept in small tanks (they are happiest in atlest 10gal, but they can def live in a small bowl) just make shure to say that bettas cant live in temperatures below 70 degrees, but bettas may be the best option for these tanks... i don no about the price of the tanks... but it seems that people are buying....

Naper....good for you for coming here and asking for suggestions !!! :thm:

Instead of advertising them for goldfish.....NOT advisable at all in a tank that small......suggest these fish instead:

1 gallon:
1 betta
2 endlers livebearers
2 white cloud minnows
ghost shrimp
1 or 2 african dwarf frogs

6 gallon:
1 dwarf gourami
1 betta
5 or 6 white clouds or endlers
African dwarf frogs
ghost shrimp

Also, suggest that they get a live plant to go in the tank as well. It can do ALOT to help in the water quality. Some plants to suggest that do well in low light condtions are:

Java fern
java moss
water sprite
lotus or water lily

I have a one gallon tank that I keep one betta in with a sprig of water sprite and a small amazon sword. It's in low light condtions and does fantastically well. I've had this tank setup for almost a year with no problems with the health of the fish and the plants do great....and not even a hint of algae. Water changes at least twice a week are a must !

Do stress NO overfeeding, I believe that is mentioned in the instructions....especially the part about removing what they don't eat...good advice !

It's a good start Naper....if anything I've mentioned here can be improved apon...I'm sure someone will come along and make it known...lol...we are an opinionated lot ! :D

Speak with a representative at your local pet store for directions on the correct number of fish for the size bowl you have purchased.

Your goldfish will thrive for a long time and be a joy to keep with proper care. Enjoy!

:read: I think the care guide needs an update. That would lessen the chance
people will throw a 5" long black moor goldfish in there.

A glorified overpriced beta bowl.

While it may not be the same thing as your high priced wall-sized aquariums, it is not intended to be. It is designed to be a "cute" little fish bowl that can be used anywhere. College dorm rooms don't do well with full-size saltwater aquariums, and that is our market. Maybe something for a cubicle at work, again not ideal for a full-size bubble blowing aquarium.

As for price, you are not paying for the fish bowl inside, you are paying for the hand-painted, nice quality enclosure. It is a conversation piece! Maybe not best for goldfish, as I'm finding here, but if someone wants some enclosure style to go along with their stylish beta, who am I to argue? How about some bright colored sparkling flowers to compliment your neon tetra? I think it would work.

These are as popular as they are for a reason. It is new, unique, stylish and fun! Maybe it doesn't appeal to professional aquarium owners such as yourself, but I'm okay with that too.

"The Fish Network Aquariums are perfect for goldfish, which should not require an additional air supply. Please read the instruction booklet included in the fish bowl to learn how to care for your fish to ensure a long and happy life."

Anyone ???

I don't know if anyone already mentioned this because I only read the first post of the thread, but...

Whoever wrote that "The Fish Network Aquariums are perfect for goldfish" should strongly reconsider. The tanks are only 1 gallon! Goldfish require AT LEAST 20 gallons per fish.

:mad2: :mad2: :mad2:

BTW, Tetras are schooling fish. You need at least 4. They won't fit in a 1 gallon tank either. The only thing you can fit in that tank is either an unhappy Betta or a snail.

Wow, go read the rest of the posts. The person selling these has stated he got some bowls from another company, along with thier care sheet, and put them in his/her own cute little stand. He offered the name of the company he got them through, so experienced fishkeepers like ourselves could send them our comments.

Napershop, while it is apparent you did not wright the fish care guide, Im sure you can see it is highly inaccurate. I bet some of the suguestions typed up here could be used with your setups without copyright infringment by the authors ;) Or you can use some info you find here and type up your own sheet to go with it. If your not that good with words, or unsure about it, I bet someone here would be glad to make one up for you.

Do you have a fireplace? I can think of a good use for the old manuals if you do.

Hey, couldn't you put some ghost shrimp in those bowls? I'm quite impressed that napershop is actually posting. Most people could care less.

You need to read the posts. I did not say that it is my own "cute little stand". It all comes as a package. They are sold in stores nationwide, just as you see them in my web store and on eBay.
