London Bombings

What I would like to understand is their reasoning for these attacks...

Terrorist, "Hmmm...9/11 attacks...did that help us? No. We really got weakened by the retaliation."

"Palistinian attacks in Israel...no, that really ending up hurting us as well."

"London attacks...hey! That's a good idea!"

I mean come on! It doesn't work. It hurts them. It makes countries more determined to destroy them.

So what is their reasoning?

Let's do it again! This time it's bound to help our cause.

Morons.

Wow I haven't turned on the TV or radio so this is the first I'm hearing about this. I'm really sorry to everyone being affected by it, and I hope your loved ones are all alright. My heart really goes out to everyone there.

And I don't understand how they do such things either. :(

To be basic, and to the point, they want one religion - islam.. If you don't believe in it, then you are an "infidel" and must be converted, or killed.

That's it.
Nothing mysterious. There's no negotiating with them, or reasoning. Some want to throw politics into this, but don't let them mislead you. These sick "people" want it their way - to the ultimate end..

Sorry, I went off Topic...

I'm a little off topic too

I understand how they do it on a basic level. I just don't understand how they can think that way. How in their minds, what they do is right. It makes me sad that people can be so bad. I just don't get it. I think I come off as naive because of the way I feel about this type of thing, but I can't help feeling like that. Today is an especially bad for this. I just don't understand why people are so awful, and why there are so many bad things out there. I don't get it, I don't like it... I can't. None of it will ever be ok with me.

all my family live in london. it is a very sad thing that has happend to everyone there. My heart is with the people of the city of London.

Well... it's definitely chin up in London today. And I have to say, most of us are feeling pretty lucky. Yeah. I know that sounds weird. But when you scale what's happened in London against something like 9/11, it wasn't nearly so extensive. But no less dreadful for those involved.
Apparently there are still bodies in the tunnels which is quite grim. Still, being the kind of city that we are, people are back on the tubes and buses and back in their offices doing 'business as usual'.

Thanks for your thoughts

Londoners wouldn't have it any other way. As one older chap said yesterday on the BBC news I was catching on C-Span, "No I'm not going to change the way I live. That would mean the despicable, evil cowards had won." Out of curiosity, I wonder how many folks in the UK will still claim this war on Terror is about oil? That's a rhetorical question.

This is a little random but I hate some news stations. Lines like "London has been bombed, can it happen here?" or "How safe is our system, tune in to find out!”. Isn’t that encoring (sp?)? To me news stations are just out for the ratings. Although they get the job done, 1/2 there attention is on ratings.

Another thing is the news stations more or less tell the people how to commit the crime. Things like “We left some luggage un attended for 3 hours, and still no one has noticed it”. Stuff like that is a dead give away IMO.

yeah Kasakato - sometimes I think you're right - the media sensationalism is just trying to encourage (think that's what you were spelling!!) ratings rather than trying to report the facts in a straightforward informative way. But then I think that about the media a lot (and I work in a related industry). I've also been concerned about how some of the papers and tv channels seem to be inciting more panic than they are trying to tell people what they should watch out for in the future - and how they can be vigilant without being paranoid.

All interesting stuff but while they battle it out on the stations I don't think there's much chance of any of it changing any time soon - you just have to make sure you filter it for sense yourself.

Wow. Deep for an aquarium site!
Have good w/es
