Today I went to the big FS to get some Cardinal Tetras (on advice of egroup fish gurus). They didn't have any Cardinals, but they suggested something I had never seen before. Long Fin Red Minor Tetras! They are beautiful!!!! Redish with orange fins, with a black top fin, and black dot on their side, truly beautiful. And large enough to not be as easily eaten. I got six of them, and when I got home immediately went to the internet to read more about them. Interesting thing was, I didn't find a lot of stuff about them. I found a few sites that briefly described them and their needs ect... but when I did a search of the fish egroups I visit, didn't find anything other than they where listed on a few folks fish list. WHY?? They are amazing. Anyone have personal experience with them, I would love to hear what you have to say about them!
Thx

You know this raises an interesting point about the internet, being as vast as it is wouldn't you think there'd be more information about fish, for instance I tried researching a rainbow shark, hardly that rare, but coul;d I find anything substancial, could I hell. Every page i visited had a few lines of basic information at best. Basucally I've come to the conclusion that unless your searching for information about common fish such as clown loaches and angel fish it's hard to find anything.

Yup..they are Serpae tetras. If you like them, you probably would like Red Phantom tetras, or even Black Phantom tetras, even more.
