Long finned Koi - Mid Atlantic Koi Show 10/3/09

Oh Phoenix, she's not mine. She was a fish I saw at the Mid Atlantic Koi show in Westminster Maryland this weekend.

I don't have a pond and won't until my small children are grown up enough that a pond is not a drowning hazard for them.

Use the menu on the left and scroll down to "Pond Pictures". Look at the second picture. It's got a huge white butterfly koi in a pond that is just beautiful!

I understand that the true koi purists don't consider the butterfly/long finned to be "true koi". Me thinks there is some snobbery! LOL

When I finally get my koi pond, I am going to stock it with bronze butterflys, blue butterflys and midnight koi. Butterflys are my absolute favorite.

You should see the butterflies at the Huntington Gardens in Los Angeles. Some of them are massive!!!
