Long gloves for aqua work

I cut off the tip of my finger this morning while slicing cucumbers for pickles.

Does anyone know if Homedepot/Lowes carries long rubber gloves ?

My husband cannot be trusted in the tanks, and I can't get my right hand wet for awhile, so.....long gloves it is.


UPDATE: Ahhh, the joys of home surgery. Bleeding stopped after 45 minutes.

you could always put on a regular rubber glove and just duct-tape the cuff. I've done that a few times for stitches, casts, etc.

http://www.drsfostersmith.com carry 28 inch gloves in lightweight plastic or durable construction. The lightweight ones are about $3.50/pair and the nicer ones are $13/pair. You might want to try your LFS as well.

^I bought some light-weight ones from there, not sure if its the same as you mentioned. I bought 2 pair. Each time I used it it got wholes in it. I was pretty dissapointed as I'd like something thats thin enough to feel what I'm doing without getting wet. I've finally given up and now stick my hand in the aquarium. I'm sure if you are cut having the heavy-weight ones would be nice.

My wife cut the tip of her thumb off while cutting onions and talking to me. Took two hours to fully stop bleeding, but slowed to the point where we decided we didn't need to go to the ER after about 30. Can still see where it happend a year later. Guess I'm not helping your situation, but maybe at a feed or farm supply store you could find large plastic gloves that vets use to reach upside of cows..... yeah you get the idea right?

OWIE!! glad I'm not the only one who does things like that. Momma mare bit me in a hissy fit but I just wrapped knuckle in plastic wrap and duct tape. I love duct tape.
