looking for a piece of a palm tree

Hi,

i am in need of a piece/log of a palm tree about 5-10 inches in diameter and about 12-20 inches long for a project i am working on and was hoping someone here might be able to help. If any one out there has any for sale or knows of some one who does semd me a pm.

I have a fairly decent collection of common South Florida varieties as well as some rarer exotics.
Fan palm or feather palm, blue fronds or green.

But when you say "log" I presume you mean the trunk of a palm tree?
I'd be happy to send fronds but I am not going to chop down a tree!!

i meant a portion of the trunk. i was hoping someone here who might have (or know someone who has) cut one down recently and has a piece they could sell me. i can't seem to find any websites selling trunk pieces on the net, guess there not a real high demand item. guess i'll have to try and get a piece next time i visit my grandpa in florida.

out of curiosity, how long does it take to grow an average palm tree?

I have a pseudophoenix sargentii that has grown about 2 feet in 6 years and a carpenteria that grew 20 in 2 years.
Depends on the species and how well you meet its needs- kinda like fish!

If I see a neighboor cutting one down I'll get you a section, but generally all the ones in my area are standing
