Yep, I'm looking for another piece of driftwood, preferably mopani or malaysian, about 15-16" or so. It seems like all the pieces I've seen have no "character". I have a great piece I got 2 years ago, and was hoping to find another to replace the large piece of texas holey rock I am taking out (any1 interested ?) Anyone have any suggestions where I can look ? Thanx gang.

Aquabid, Trade section on the site, outdoors(lol), local forums can really help.

Thanx Debbi, I was just on that site, and yes, that is more along the lines of what I am looking for. Thanx again.

Unless you get it on super sale on line it never pays to buy it unless your holding it in your hand first to inspect it. A 16" piece of wood on line had a 50-50 chance of being a long twig.

Actually I know now that when it comes to drift wood its best to make your own out of hardwood tree stumps called Basswood, a very common landscape tree with small round leaves is the same wood used to make air stones. Just drive around the neighborhood after a wind storm and their free and once you process one for the tank you'll never want anything else.

And if you're in too big a hurry to wait for the next accommodating Nor'easter you can also try

Their in Joisey and they ship same day. They have some bigger pieces that they list as WYSIWYG w/ pics or you can tell them what you're looking for, (horizontal, holy, branching, etc.) and they'll try to pick ya out something.
