Am looking to get some led light bulbs for my (40cm 16 inches) deep planted aquarium for easy to medium light plants!

i was thinking something around 6000k-7000k any suggestions ?

i dont want to get into soldering and complicated wiring.. so need some sort of sand alone light bulbs.light some spot light led or similar .

am really stuck now.. it seems to complicated to choose good cheap leds
any suggestions and some help would be much appreciated

will something like this work ?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/180718103803...84.m1423.l2649

spacing them across the aquariums length

or possibly using 5 of them and 5 with lower kelvins around 3000k

Personally, I am a fan of http://www.ebay.com/itm/10-Watt-LED...726?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4aafabd846

LEDs that run at less than a watt per bulb don't really light up the tank too well. If LED lights are 1 watt per bulb (such as the floodlights) the light is strong and reaches the bottom of the aquarium. These LEDs also create a nice shimmer effect. They also make 20 watt models.

If you do go with the floodlights, they don't come with plugs, so they can be connected in series. There are two open copper wires. You can get a lamp cord at home depot or lowes and use a plastic cap and connect them like that.

thanks they do look nice... my tank is long and 16 inches deep so its not that deap.. do you think i can get by with 2 of those 10w 7000k models ?

also do you know of any video showing them how they light up .. am interested to see the actual light in the tank..

i found the same led flood light far cheaper here

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Waterproo...829?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item415c7cb895

and they are also water proof

Pure white light (5500-6500K).
Provides even and bright illumination across a wide area.
AC 85-264V voltage input.
Waterproof design, ideal even for outdoor use.
Place/hang/nail it as you like.

LED quantity: 9 tiny pieces

Input: AC 85-264V
Frequency range: 50-60Hz
Power factor (PF): ?0.98
Total harmonic distortion (THD): ?20%
LED total power: 10W
Lamp total power: 12W
Power Efficiency: 88%
LED luminous efficiency: ≥95lm/w
LED initial flux: 950lm (Tj = 25?)
Lamp's efficiency: ?90%

for that price i think that is the way to go..

my tank is 60 inches long and 16 deep so i would try and get 3 of this flood lights and space them across

am planing to plant the new tank with low to medium light plants..do you think am going to be ok with this flood lights ?
